When you arrive the owner treats you to tea and a dose of history on his family's home. We also loved the open air dining in the courtyard. Breakfast was the best of our trip with traditional porridge and Indian courses as well as eggs to order and toast. I had a cold and laryngitis when I was there and the staff kept bringing me ginger tea to help cure it! I even got to try my hand at puppetry! You should definitely stay here when you go to Jaipur!

We had the pleasure of staying here for four nights and would have loved to stay longer. The location is good for popping into the pink city. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so willing to help. The food and wine is good. Negative comments - none

What a beautiful place. The family who own and run it are wonderful. Explaining what is around, how the place is run and offering you delightful tea on arrival. The rooms aren't rooms...they are palaces. We stayed in this huge 2 floored suite. It had not only huge amounts of space and places to relax but also its own swing inside!! Incredible!

The owners are charming and informative hosts. The food, rooms and service were all first class. We got invited to join the owners at a classical Indian music night that was one of our holiday highlights. If you want to experience real India don't stay at international chain hotels stay at places like Dera Mandawa.

you go from a busy road to a garden and courtyard full of tranquillity and calm, then you are taken into the family drawing room by Mrs Singh who talked about the history of her and her husbands families, which was so very interesting, she gives such a lovely warm welcome. We were all so happy on staying at this hotel which really is so authentic. The food is delicious and breakfasts are plentiful. All the staff are excellent and cannot do enough for you. Don't miss this hotel!!

We arrived at Dera Mandawa late in the evening and were greeted with a wonderful thali dinner, and had the pleasure of dining with the owner, who regaled us with stories about his family and the hotel property. The courtyard allows guests the opportunity to meet other travelers, and there's a very exciting puppet show in the courtyard each evening. Our suite was huge, and just outside of our room were areas for sitting or lounging. We couldn't hear any traffic noise at night, and each morning someone brought us hot tea, coffee and biscuits before breakfast, which is served in the courtyard each morning. We had a wonderful experience--I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Dera Mandawa is a ‘home stay’ where you stay in the same accommodation as your host, although it is more of a mansion built around a large courtyard. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and our breakfasts and dinners were excellent, with great service.

My husband, son and I were fortunate to have landed ourselves in Jaipur for the annual kite festival or Makar Sakranti. Our fortune was increased by our stay at the charming Dera Mandawa in a spacious and comfortable room with Indian decor fabulously echoing another era. The staff were amazingly attentive, several even helping us to fly kites from the roof, as participants in the festival. Meals were served in a cozy family-like dining room and the food was some of the most delicious we experienced during our two week tour in Rajasthan. In fact, with stomachs a bit sensitive from a previous meal in Delhi, the staff went out of their way to prepare restorative food for us. Above all however, it was the elegant owner who set the tone for this delightful lodging, making all feel as though they were special guests in his home, which over it's lifetime has housed many generations of his family.

We spent 3 nights at the 125 year old Haveli combined with an enriching homestay experience, but this is no ordinary homestay. Our stunning suite of rooms was a real "wow". The tasteful decor and relaxing outdoor spaces make this a really special place. Our host was so welcoming and passionate about the restoration of the building. The evening puppet show an unexpected bonus. The restaurant is good with home cooked food.. Staff were friendly and service excellent. A great base to explore Jaipur.

I immediately fell in love with this haveli, Mr Singh, and all the team who work there. The building is beautiful, and set in peaceful gardens, a true oasis. Mr Singh and his team are absolutely wonderful and just effortlessly bring everyone together. We had 2 wonderful, delicious evenings there, and wish we could stay longer

What a haven of peace, tranquillity and luxury. Jaipur is quite mad. So much noise, traffic, car horns, crazy drivers, cows......everywhere. But this is a true gem in the crown of hotels in Jaipur. If you have see the Best Marigold Hotel it was filmed in Jaipur. You see all the same locations and the real 'thing' is so much better than the film - trust me.

All the great reviews are true. Our family of 11 was spoiled by the service, food and accommodations. Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and also shared many stories about the property and history of the area. Each room has its special charm with modern amenities. The relaxing nooks and courtyard were perfect gathering and relaxing areas.

A scheduled stay as part of a wider trip in India, we had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Dera Mandawa. Our suite was huge and in a wonderful traditional style; the food was homely, tasty and well cooked; the staff were so friendly and Mr Durga Singh (the owner) was an exceptional host

We were lucky enough to spend 2 nights at this beautiful 'home stay' in Jaipur. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, who regaled us with stories and information, encouraged my husband to fly Indian fighting kites on the roof ( a long standing dream of his) and also took us to a wonderful classical music concert with him. A traditional puppet show was also laid on in the evening for the guests. Marvellous!
